When all seems lost, there is that little bit of HOPE to keep them going...
Over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States. That is approximately one report every 10 seconds. More than 5 children may die each day as a result of child abuse. What are we doing to prevent this ? What are we doing to raise awareness among our community? Better yet, what are we doing to help the victims?
Embracing Hope’s goal is to crochet or knit a bear for the children who are victims of abuse and are dealing with trauma. Whether the child has been removed from their family or remain in the presence of their own home, the bears are a symbol of HOPE and a reminder that this is not the end of the road but only the beginning of a stronger tomorrow.
Where will the bears go?
The bears will be donated to emergency response teams and family resource centers. Completely hand made, the bears will have a blue ribbon symbolizing awareness for child abuse and a motivational poem.
It doesn't have to be a teddy bear, it can be any other stuffed animal or a doll.
How can you help?
At the moment, our project does not require money donations. We need yarn and lots of it.
Because we are not an official 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, your gift is not tax deductible.
You can help by donating the basic necessities to make a bear:
• Yarn
• Stuffing
• Ribbon
